Description:
The workshop will address the relationship of ethnic media with the public sphere, from Canadian, US and European perspectives. It will look at issues of citizenship/integration and cultural retention. Several of the proposed participants are contributing to a book on ethnic media in the Canadian public sphere to be edited by the moderator. The workshop will provide a valuable opportunity to obtain scholarly, governmental, professional, and community feedback on issues addressed in the forthcoming book.
