Description:

The workshop will look into the growing number of street children in large, middle-sized and small cities who more and more tend to become displaced outside their home countries (Honduran children in Vancouver, Salvadoran and Guatemalan children members of gangs in US cities, etc.) There will be special emphasis on migrant children in the countries of the Regional Conference on Migration (RCM) or Puebla Process, comprising all North and Central American countries plus the Dominican Republic.

To arrive at sound conclusions and recommendations, there is a need to bring together the research done by academics, the practical experience of the civil society and policy makers who are ultimately responsible for formulating and implementing government policy.
