Description:

While there is a general consensus within the academic, governmental and NGO sectors that the integration of ethnic communities involves a plethora of factors, the roles of religion are often overlooked. In this workshop, a wide range of international speakers will explore the ways religion functions within the broader processes of contemporary immigrant integration in their respective countries. Speakers will discuss recent ethnographic research as well as experiences from within the policy development and implementation realms. Participants will address the relevance of their experiences or research for the social policies related to immigrant integration.
