Description:

This workshop will focus on the research process that underpins employment equity. Methodological and theoretical frameworks will be examined with a view to explaining how they fuel the interpretation, development and implementation of equal employment opportunity measures.

Employment equity practitioners and researchers will examine the nature, strengths and limitations of data sources and the methodologies used in the context of employment equity and equal opportunity initiatives.

Analysis will also discuss the findings of different methodological and theoretical approaches within and beyond national borders.

Workshop participants will be encouraged to engage in discussion surrounding these key issues. This session will be interactive with both panel sessions and open discussion. A person with recognized expertise will moderate the discussion.
