General Information
The congress will take place
in the Vienna
City Hall. Please use the main conference entrance in Lichtenfelsgasse.
To get to the City Hall by public transport, get off the Underground
line U2 at "Rathaus" station or take the tram lines 1,
2 or D and get off at "Rathausplatz/

Registration and Information
The registration and information office will be open during the
following hours:
Monday, 15 September: from 9.00 to 20.00
Tuesday, 16 Septmber: from 8.30 to 18.00
Wednesday, 17 September: from 8.30 to 18.00
Thursday, 18 Septmber: from 8.30 to 18.00
Friday, 19 September: from 8.30 to 14.00
Conference languages
The official language of the conference are English, German and
French. Simultaneous interpretation between the three languages
will be available at the plenary sessions only.
Attire
As at previous international Metropolis events, the conference attire will be "business casual".

Weather: In mid-September you can expect temperatures between 15° and 20° C, in the evening it might by cooler. It is often sunny, yet sometimes rainy.
The Austrian currency is the euro.
Time zone: GMT plus one hour
Banks
All banks are open from Monday to Friday from 08.00 till 12.30 and from 13.30 till 15.00 (Thursday until 17.00). Nearly every bank has a 24-hours cash machine/ATM ("Bankomat").
Visa regulations
Citizens of all countries of the European Union, all accession countries,
most countries of North and South America and some other countries
do not need a visa, but a valid passport or (for EU citizens) an identity
card only. Participants who need a visa will be provided with a Schengen
Visa, issued for all Schengen countries and valid for up to three
months. When in doubt whether a visa is required, please contact the
next Austrian consulate or embassy before departure. Useful information

Public Transport
The public
transport system in Vienna is one of the most modern and efficient
in Europe, offering 5 underground, 32 tram and 80 bus routes (including
21 night services.) The congress venue can easily be reached by underground
line U2 ("Rathaus" station).
Airport Transfer
Vienna International Airport is about 20 km from the city. In order to get to the city centre from the airport, there is a public shuttle bus service (departures every 20 minutes, journey time: 20-25 minutes, fare: € 5,-), the suburban railway S7 (departures every 20 minutes, journey time: 30 minutes, fare: € 3,-) or you may take a taxi (approx. €26,-).

Arriving by train
International trains arrive at Westbahnhof (for Germany and western Europe) and Südbahnhof (for Italy and central/eastern Europe). To get to the conference venue, take underground lines U3 and U2 from Westbahnhof and tram D from Südbahnhof.
