Workshop description:
This workshop will focus on different needs female migrants as a special target group do have, and tries to present what kind of health policy has been developed in Vienna.

Goals of the workshop:
As a goal of the workshop we are aiming at feminisation of migration and related problems, like gender specific forms of abuse and exploitation, trafficking related issues and the different policies of countries of destination in terms of the position of migrant women in the host societies. Another essential goal is to give an overview about best practice-models of Vienna´s health policy like equal access of female migrants to existing health care services and special services for the particular needs of this target group. Further we want to discuss strategic options the city of Vienna is focussing.

Policy relevance and topic: governments are searching for ways to set up awareness and understanding of Women migrants health issues in the public opinion

How international comparisons are included: Participants are working as development and operation officers overseas and central Europe.

Reference to concerns with policy-making and best practice: selected model projects in the area of empowerment and capacity buidling
like as FGM-Femal genital mutiliation, and the Viennese "Intercultural
